Dr. De Campos Silva grew up in Brazil, Belo Horizonte. He commenced his career in FCMMG University hospital in his hometown. One year after completing Medicine and Surgery, he moved to Adelaide and commenced working in Flinders Medical Centre as an Intern. He continued as a resident rotating in multiple surgical and medical specialties with most time spent in Emergency, and Cardiovascular surgery. After working 4 years in Adelaide at Flinders Medical Centre he moved to the Gold Coast and worked for a year in Orthopaedic Surgery. He went for a complete career change and worked for close to 4 years as a Radiation Oncology Registrar in the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
During his time rotating in multiple specialties he came to realise that his passion lay in General Practice and he pursued training in that field, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. With his extensive hospital training in surgery and cancer he developed a passion for skin cancer treatment and has been sub-specialising in that area. He is also interested in the cosmetic aspect of skin treatment.
Dr. De Campos Silva has also presented research papers in prostate cancer in conferences in New Zealand, and holds an Academic Title with Griffith University helping with the tutoring of medical students.
Dr. Thomaz De Campos Silva has a very practical approach to Medicine, supporting well-established treatments based on the most recent evidence-based literature.
Outside the Clinic Dr. Silva has a passion for aviation, surfing, kitesurfing and diving.
