Dr Barri Phatarfod MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Barri Phatarfod graduated from Monash University in 1988 and spent the following years establishing a busy medical practice in Sydney’s east. She has practised medicine for over 30 years and has vast experience as a GP in rural and remote Australia.

Dr Phatarfod has been part of the antenatal shared care network and has an interest in geriatrics and palliative care. In 2021 she supervised a state-run Covid-19 vaccination hub. She has a strong commitment to social justice and in 2013 formed the organisation Doctors for Refugees to provide healthcare access to vulnerable individuals in detention centres. She has served as a Councillor on the NSW AMA as well as NSW representative to the AMA Council of General Practice, campaigning for better access to healthcare for the disadvantaged.
