Dr. Jonathan R Coldwell

Dr Coldwell grew up in Adelaide, South Australia. He began his career as a Research Scientist studying for a PhD in Sensory Physiology at the University of Adelaide.

He then completed Medicine and Surgery at Flinders University in South Australia before residencies in Trauma and Emergency at The Alfred Hospital and Obstetrics at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne.

Dr Coldwell then completed General Practice training and has further qualifications in Skin Cancer Diagnosis and Management.

Dr Coldwell is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), a member of the Australian College of Cutaneous Oncology and the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Organisation. He is also a supervisor of General Practice trainees and RACGP examiner.

Dr Coldwell believes in an evidence-based approach to treating illness and does not support “treatments” without proven scientific merit. These treatments can offer false hope and a financial burden to the patient and the taxpayer.

Outside of clinic Dr Coldwell likes to spend time with his family by the beach, play chess and enjoy the eclectic diversity of the Byron Shire.
