Physiotherapy – Byron Bay
Physiotherapy is part of musculoskeletal or Sport Medicine, and focusses on the muscles, ligaments and joints of the body.
Here at The Bright Side Clinic in Byron Bay, we are proud to have Michael Nyguen joining our team as a Physiotherapist.
Michael is Australian-trained with an extensive background in his educational and practical experience. He has worked with world-leaders in the management of chronic pain and we are excited to be able to offer his expertise to the people of Byron Bay and the surrounding areas.
Physiotherapists work with acute and chronic or long-term injuries, as well as preventing injuries in sportspeople.
Physiotherapy is also helpful for pain where there has been no particular injury, such as back, knee or shoulder pain related to age or physical work.
Here are some examples of the conditions that can benefit from physiotherapy:
- Back pain
- Shoulder pain
- Neck pain
- Headaches including migraines
- Bruxism – clenching or grinding your teeth at night
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Knee pain
- Ankle and foot pain
- Old injuries
- New injuries
- Chronic pain
- Sports injuries
- Tennis Elbow
- Hip pain
- Rehabilitation after injury
- Rehabilitation after a stroke
Physiotherapy can be partly funded by Medicare for eligible patients. It is also covered by most health funds’ extras programmes.
